Adrian and I were husking corn. Adrian was peeling them part way and it made me think of Veggie Tales, like the corn that plays a guitar. So I found our biggest googly eyes and made him a corn guy.
This year I am raising Monarchs, Eastern Black swallowtails and Painted Lady Butterflies. I was told Monarchs are starting to disappear, so I am glad to have found as many as I have.
Right now I have
I am teaching my great friend, Evie, how to raise them too. She has over twenty! This is her first year raising them, and she is doing a good job.
I would like to have over 100 all together. It would be really cool to have 100 chrysalises all at once. It would be so much fun to let 100 butterflies all free at the same time too! But I don’t have a big enough container for that.
If you find any Monarch eggs, caterpillars or chrysalises, I would happily raise them for you! Just bring them to Audrey’s Butterfly hotel.
Yesterday, Mark, Daddy, Megan and I did a color run. It was 5K! When we started, we were almost in the back. When we finished, we were almost up front!
If was fun because people would throw colored corn starch at us. When we were done we were all messy. I would run through and no one would spray me. The first time I only got a little bit on my side. At the end, all the runners were throwing corn starch at each other and I got colored then.
I really enjoyed it. This was fun because it wasn’t a race, it was just for fun. I enjoy running, so maybe a race would be fun too.
I was asked to do a butterfly class last year. I did a good job on it and Miss Krista asked me to do it again this year. This year I had more caterpillars and butterflies then the year before and I think I did a lot better job on it.
I taught about butterflies and how I raise them. Then we went for a walk on the prairie and caught some butterflies and caterpillars. We caught them and talked about what it was before letting it go.
I caught a Monarch, but since I was in high grass, the grass bent down and the butterfly escaped. It was a fun chase. We also found three Monarch caterpillars and a Monarch chrysalis!
Momma found this post from when I was a guest speaker on Mark’s blog. It was written the first time we ever raised butterflies. We were researching how long we have been raising them. It has been seven years! I had just turned four when I wrote this.
I love caterpillars. Sometimes we see a big caterpillar and sometimes we see little caterpillars. We have 5 caterpillars in our house. Soon they will turn into butterflies. I just know that! I always like caterpillars. I so much love caterpillars! Our caterpillars are turning their crystals. They are spinning their web into crystals. They are almost ready to turn into crystals, they go into their crystals, and they will turn into butterflies.
I like to watch them because they are my favorite thing. Hee hee hee.
Oma taught me this. (I love you Oma!)I have a fuzzy little caterpillar. He wiggled long, he wiggled short, he wiggled right to me. I put him in a covered box, “Don’t go away†I said. Then I peeked inside and saw a butterfly! I could never make one, if I even tried. Only God in heaven can make a butterfly!
P.S. When Megan saw this picture, she asked why I was wearing HER dress 🙂
Today, Megan is going to be our guest speaker and tell you about the trip we are leaving on today.
It is not fair! I have a so big bag pack! Audrey’s is little. I want Audrey’s so much because it so small.
We going to camp. We going back pack. We going to canoe. I don’t know what we are going to eat. I made Gorp.
It will be fun! I am jumping up and down!
I lost a tooth on the fourth of May. I put it under my pillow, but the tooth fairy didn’t come and didn’t come and didn’t come. So I wrote a note that said thank you for being such a good tooth fairy but lately you have not been finding our teeth.
On the 15th I got a note from the tooth fairy. I suspect the tooth fairy is Momma or Daddy because I have seen them do it. Momma said she is NOT the tooth fairy and I must have been dreaming.
I recognize the writing from someone, but I don’t know who wrote it. Do you recognize this handwriting? Megan said it is her tooth fairy. I know it is not Mommy or Daddy’s writing. It might be Oma’s writing, but she won’t tell me, but she was laughing when I asked. Opa said it is not Daddy’s writing unless he got lots neater.
Do you know who wrote this note? Opa said I needed a handwriting expert and was hoping you could help!
Thank you!
