Last week Megan borrowed my camera and took some pictures. These are my favorite three !

Butterfly
The Butterfly Palace
One gloomy afternoon, my dad was off of work. He said, “Why don’t we all go to the Butterfly Palace?†My little sister was so excited! “There be princesses there?†Charlene shouted out joyfully.
“No honey, it is a Butterfly Palaceâ€, Mom said with a little giggle. “It’s the biggest butterfly greenhouse in the US and we just got four free tickets in the mail!â€
“Oh, can we go now?†my little sister said, clapping her hands.
“Yes, go get your shoes on†my mom said. With that, Charlene took off to find her shoes. When we got outside to the car, Charlene started to cry. “What’s the matter?†Momma asked her.
“My car seat isn’t here!â€
“Oh, yes, Daddy took the car to be fixed yesterday. He took out your car seat.â€
“I’ll go find it Momâ€, I said. I got out of the car and my dad opened the garage door. I looked by the shovels. It wasn’t there. I looked on Dad’s work bench, there were tools all over it! Then I went over to the toys. It was leaning up against the side door.
We buckled her car seat in and started off. We were just about to turn out of the drive way when Charlene said “I have to go to the bathroomâ€. We backed back into the driveway. Mom said “go fast!â€
Then we headed off again from CR 13 to Peppermint Lane. We turned right on to Wisconsin Ave. Then, just as we were about to turn the corner onto Cherry Drive, we got pulled over by a cop! He wrote my dad a speeding ticket. My dad did not realize he was going over the speed limit because he was too busy answering all the hundred questions my sister was asking him.
Once the cop left, we headed straight towards Butterfly Drive. Charlene kept asking “are we almost there? How much longer?†Dad told her just a couple more minutes.
Mom reached down to get her purse to get the tickets. She looked inside her purse, she could not find them. She took everything out and found them in a side pocket.
My Dad parked the car and we all got out. When we got to the entrance there was a sign that said, “Closed for Unexpected Maintenance. Open in the Fall.â€

Caterpillar Test Answers
A few months I ago I posted pictures of the caterpillars that I am raising this year. Then I gave you a test. Finally, here are the test answers. The first three are moths, and the last three are butterflies.
Caterpillars A are Tussock Moths and they eat milkweed.
Caterpillar B is a Brown Hooded Owlet and they eat goldenrod and asters.
Caterpillar C is a Saddle Back. It eats Maple and a bunch of weeds. This is the only one that will sting you if touched. I have learned from experience. It hurt! First I thought it was a bee sting, but was glad to find a Saddle back. I forgave it for stinging me.
Caterpillar D is an Eastern Black Swallowtail; it eats anything in the dill family.
Caterpillar E is a Painted Lady and it likes to eat thistle. The caterpillar won’t sting you, but the thistle might poke you.
Caterpillar F is a Monarch. It eats milkweed.

Socks
Mrs. Crepensick, a friend at church, taught me how to knit socks! I was making slipper socks and I asked her how to do the heel. She said that I needed really thin yarn and smaller needles. She bought them for me!
She started to show my how to knit them last January (I think). I finished the first one. Then I started the second one. I was at the heel and then took a break over the summer. I do not like knitting in the summer!
Momma kept telling me I HAD to finish my sock, I HAD to finish my sock. I brought it out and it took me three days to finish it.
They were easy! I will probably make more, but I want to learn how to knit a sweater now 🙂
I Lied
This is the first time that I happily admit that I lied. 🙂
Before Andrea’s tournament, we were taking pictures of the pretty fall leaves. I found four caterpillars! I asked Mommy if I could keep them. She said that they had to be big, almost ready to make their chrysalises, since we had to leave the next day. I collected the big ones.
I gave them extra food and all were in their chrysalises when we got back. Just over a week later, they emerged! I have two more chrysalises that should emerge in a few days. They better hurry because it is getting cold fast.
These are four that we released today. They wanted to play with us and kept coming back for more pictures.
