This Year’s First Caterpillars!

Last night I found our first 3 caterpillars. I  think it is because the weather was very dry we couldn’t find any. It has been starting to rain so the the bugs are coming out.

I put them in a container and did not put air holes in it. They are small and could crawl out of them.  Everyday I clean them and if they need food, feed them milkweed.

I named the smallest one Curious (he is about 5 mm long) and the medium one George (9 mm). Adrian named the biggest one Tigger (1 cm). They are too small to hold yet.

If you find any Monarch caterpillars, that you don’t want to raise, I would like them please!

Swallowtail

I have not caught any Monarchs and I want to.  Daddy says it is because of the weather (it is very dry). I have been looking for Monarch caterpillars and eggs on milkweed. I find ant and more ants. Momma says we might not be able to raise any butterflies this year 🙁

I caught a Swallowtail today. It is the first butterfly we caught this year. Momma said I could play with it today, but I can’t keep it.

Caught–Tooth Fairy

Mark lost a tooth. Mark was trying an experiment.  If he could put it in a glass of water, like when Momma was little, would the tooth fairy come?  We usually put lost teeth under our pillows.

I came up for a drink of water.  I ran down stairs and told Andrea, “I saw a tiny bit of light!” She came upstairs with me and we caught it.  It was one of the tooth fairies!

The tooth fairy said she almost drowned trying to get his tooth! Mark put his tooth under his pillow and I let the tooth fairy go.  Mark said the tooth fairy came for his tooth last night.

My First Bag

I made a bag for camp.  It is purple and the inside is green with purple flowers. I made most of it.  Momma helped a little. The hardest part was the curves.

We made a toiletry bag to go with it. It was harder to make because of the plastic, so Momma helped me do it.

Andrea made a bag too. Andrea sewed more than I did because I have been sewing less than she has.

I had fun making my bag.

Soccer

Last week, the other team had only four players at first, so I got to be on their team 🙂

My normal team won by a few, but I helped my team earn some goals. I had fun!

Saturday is our last game.  I am going to miss my team, but I am glad it over.  I like Saturday’s free.

“Birthday” Surprise

We are celebrating my birthday today because Uncle Phil’s wedding was on my real birthday. We are pretending today is my real birthday!

I wanted a baby alpaca to be born on my birthday.  Today, our neighbor came home real quick to do something when the dogs started to bark and bark and bark. So she went out to see what was wrong. Alaska (the mom alpaca) was having her baby! Our neighbor got her gloves and had to help pull it out a little bit. The new baby is a BIG baby, she weighs 18.2 pounds! Mark thinks the last baby only weighed about 15 pounds! The vet came over after  and said everything is okay.

The neighbor called Mark and told him to come over after the baby was born. The rest of us followed soon after. So we got to see a few minute old baby!

I am excited! I am looking forward to seeing the clean baby later.

Wedding Birthday

Yesterday was my birthday. A lot of things happened!

  • It was Mr. Wood’s birthday. He is my friend’s daddy.
  • Uncle Phil and Aunt Michelle’s wedding.
  • Transit of Venus over the moon. We missed it. It won’t happen again for over 100 years!
  • Momma surprised me with a giant Curious George Cookie.

We decided to celebrate my birthday next Tuesday because how do you do a birthday party on the same day as a wedding.  I also did not want it in the middle of the night. Momma said it gave me something to look forward to after the wedding.

During the pictures at the wedding, Momma brought in a box of cookies. I asked Momma if I could eat one now. She said yes. I opened the box and guess what I found!  A Curious George cookie that Momma made. Everyone wanted it!
