On Saturday, we went to the mill. We took a walk. I found a really pretty leaf. I asked for part of some corn. We are going to put it under the microscope. We bought some flour. A dragonfly landed on Mark’s shoulder.
We learned this in school today, and it is a trivia question for you. What is pericarp?
If you want to explore the mill, it closes at the end of October! I think it is open Wednesday through Saturday.
If you want a beautiful fall walk, the area is open all week long. It is beautiful there right now!
Audery I like your pictures and also you are getting to be a big girl now. Love you Audery
that mill looks so pretty in autumn! It looks as though is was painted since we were there.

Audrey,
That was a good trivia question! We didn’t know what a pericarp was so we looked it up in the dictionary. You helped us learn something new!

A pericarp is the outside of the corn! It looks like a funny color of thin ice. Momma said it looks like small fat glitter. 🙂
