Tulips

Purple TulipI have been experimenting with taking pictures of flowers. I have had fun taking pictures of the tulips. The pink and the purple ones are from our neighbors and the yellow is from Oma and Opa’s house.

After I take the pictures, I am having fun learning how to edit them. The purple one we tried to make it look like an oil painting. The yellow one we just sharpened it. The pink one we adjusted the color just a little bit.

I  like the pink one best because  it is  big and bright.

Primrose

Impressonist PrimroseI was taking pictures of Primroses. Momma was playing with one of her pictures and she found a way to make look like an Impressionists painting. I really liked the idea, so Momma showed me how to make it look like an Impressionist picture. I played with it for a little bit.  I really like how it turned out.

Brownie Cupcakes

Mommy surprised us with these. Here is the recipe.

Daddy found this recipe on Facebook.

  • brownie1 package Oreos
  • Favorite brand of peanut butter
  • 3/4 c melted butter
  • 1 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1.5 tsp vanilla
  • 3 eggs
  • 3/4 c flour
  • 1/3 +3 Tbl cocoa powder
  • 1/3 tsp baking powder
  1. Make brownies by mixing together the butter, sugar, vanilla and eggs. Stir in flour, cocoa and baking powder. Mix well.
  2. Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Place 12 cup cake papers in a cupcake pan.
  3. Spoon a tsp brownie mix in the bottom of the cupcake papers.
  4. Make the Oreo layer by spreading peanut butter between two Oreos and adding some on top.  Fill each cupcake paper this way.
  5. Pour a little brownie mix into each cupcake paper, trying to get it around the Oreos.
  6. Bake at 350 for 20 -25 minutes. A toothpick inserted near the top will come out clean when finished.
  7. Cool on wire rack.
  8. Enjoy!

Skunk Cabbage

skunk cabbageYesterday we went to the park. We took a walk and Momma took a picture of the Skunk Cabbage. Later, I took a picture of the Skunk Cabbage. Momma said I did a really good job.

Skunk Cabbage stinks and when people used to have stuffy noses, they would break off a piece and smell it. It was supposed to help your stuffy nose go away.  It is one of the first spring flowers to come up.

Pajamas

Pajamas

I made  pajama pants for Adrian. He likes them.

I made them for four reasons:

  1. Adrian outgrew all his pajama pants except for the ones from Christmas.
  2. Adrian does not know how to sew, and I do.
  3. Adrian really liked this material.
  4. I wanted to make them special for him.

I told him they are an early birthday present 🙂

I am Thankful for-Sewing

We went to Mrs. Beers (our neighbor) and we did crafts. We made little dolls and we looked in some of her scrap material. She gave me some material that she had used to make pajama pants for her granddaughter. There was enough left to make me some too. It was a little short, so we added some plain brown material to the bottom of it.

I did all the sewing except finishing up the hem.  I was having trouble with it and it was the first time I ever tried.  Momma said I need a lot more practice!

I am thankful that Mrs. Beer gave me some monkey material.  I am thankful that Momma taught me how to sew.

This is the very first thing that I have made almost all by myself. Except a little smidgen of it.  I really, really, really like them. They are nice and warm and I have not taken them off today. 🙂
