Then you can pick it when it is all orange and make jack o lanterns!<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright size-thumbnail wp-image-115\" src=\"https:\/\/audrey.mcguireclan.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/10\/cleaning-150x150.jpg\" alt=\"Cleaning\" width=\"150\" height=\"150\" \/><\/p>\n<p>I got to pick a pie pumpkin. Do you know why they are called pie pumpkins? Because they have a lot of seeds to plant and lots of flesh for making pies!\u00a0 Or you can cook the <img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-thumbnail wp-image-116\" src=\"https:\/\/audrey.mcguireclan.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/10\/carving-150x150.jpg\" alt=\"Carving\" width=\"150\" height=\"150\" \/>seeds and eat the seeds after they are cooked.<\/p>\n<p>To make a jack o lantern, first wash your hands.\u00a0 Because your hands may be dirty and get in your seeds.\u00a0 Then you carve off the top and then take the seeds out.\u00a0 Momma says &#8220;Save the seeds for <img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-thumbnail wp-image-117 alignright\" src=\"https:\/\/audrey.mcguireclan.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/10\/Finished-150x150.jpg\" alt=\"Finished\" width=\"150\" height=\"150\" \/>later!&#8221;\u00a0 Then I carved out a mouth, then a nose, and then an eye, then another eye.\u00a0 Then you wash your hands again because they are all gooey!<\/p>\n<p>We got to eat pumpkin seeds and cookies, yummy cookies.<\/p>\n<p>P.S.\u00a0 Watch out for the pumpkin poop! \ud83d\ude42<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-thumbnail wp-image-118 alignleft\" src=\"https:\/\/audrey.mcguireclan.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/10\/poop-150x150.jpg\" alt=\"Pumpkin poop\" width=\"150\" height=\"150\" \/><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Today at Nature Nuts, I made a book about pumpkins.\u00a0 They first start out as a seed.\u00a0 Then a sprout, then a plant, then they flower, then a little green pumpkin starts to grow.\u00a0 Then it gets yellowish, then it gets orange.
