The other day I asked how many Monarch eggs I found. I had found 50 that first day. Yesterday I found 203. Today I found 160 from my captive butterflies and 41 in the wild.
I am hoping that I can release most of them.
So far this year I have had only 6 sick monarchs! I keep the sick ones in an outdoor cage with milkweed in it. They have the chance to fly around, mate, lay eggs, and just enjoy more space then the other option I don’t like.
Sadly, they do not live around here, but they are pretty!
Today, I went out with my sister/friend and found a lot! She took 10 home after I taught her how to bleach them.
The four sick ones I put in a huge cage that I got a garage sale last year. Â I put some milkweed in there for them to enjoy.
One escaped. Â Two of them mated. She laid 23 eggs just today! I am hoping for more.
